AskAven ("we", "us", "Aven Academy", part of Kartexa) is a free study-help tool. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect when you use the site and why.

What we collect

  • Your messages. Questions you type or say are sent to our AI provider (Groq) to generate a reply. We keep a copy of the conversation to improve answer quality and fix problems.
  • Basic device & visit info. IP address, approximate location derived from your IP (city/region/country), device type, operating system, browser, screen size, browser language, and time zone.
  • Usage data. Pages visited, how many messages you send, and the page that referred you here.
  • Voice input. If you use the microphone, your speech is converted to text directly in your browser (we do not store audio recordings).

What we don't collect

  • No account, no name, no phone number, no email — AskAven works without login.
  • We don't sell your data to advertisers.

How we use this information

  • To generate answers to your questions.
  • To understand how students use AskAven, so we can improve it (this is the "lead tracker" behind the scenes).
  • To detect abuse and keep the service free and available for everyone.

Third parties

Your questions are processed by Groq's AI API to generate a response. If you turn on "read answers out loud," the reply text is sent to Puter.js's text-to-speech service to generate audio. Neither service receives your name or contact details from us.

Data retention

Conversation logs and visit records are kept only as long as needed to run and improve the service, and are stored on our own servers rather than a third-party database.

Your choices

  • You can stop using the microphone at any time and type instead.
  • You can clear your local chat history by clearing your browser's site data for this page.
  • You can contact us to ask what we hold about a specific IP/session, or to request deletion.

Children's privacy

AskAven is built for students preparing for school and competitive exams. We don't knowingly collect more information from younger users than described above, and we never ask for names, phone numbers, or precise home addresses.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as AskAven grows. Meaningful changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
